Amsalem Global Travel Management is one of the leading agencies in the Israeli travel industry. Since 1983 the company has grown, having today 400 employees worldwide and subsidiaries in North America, Europe, Asia and the Far East. Amsalem's operations include services for the corporate sector, business flights, international tourism, domestic tourism, hotel accommodations, transportation arrangements and many more related services. Amsalem is among the leading experts for organizing group tours to Israel and the Mediterranean region.

Challenge

Amsalem were using travel technologies for 20 years, when first solutions were launched into the Israeli market, most of them made in house bearing the limitations of that time. In 2009 Amsalem were searching for a more advanced and evolved solution, as the system they were using, although kept up to date, was not responding to their needs anymore. The technology was too old and was slowing down the growth of the rapidly expanding company. New lines of business were on the line (large scale travel services distribution), so new technology had to be brought in, to replace the current platform.

The head of the FIT department into the company was named responsible in finding a new solution for this business sector, into a market where reliability and partnership health and durability are highly important, therefore business critical solutions have difficulties in being adopted.

Implementation

Open minded and used to the technology and its importance into the travel business, Amsalem Tours immediately adopted the system and the innovative concepts that the new platform was modeling. Using the latest technologies and state of the art methods, TBS and AIDA promised to bring the growth and the expansion speed that Amsalem was seeking.

Results and impact

After the piloting phase, TBS travel consolidator was perfectly adopted by the agents as well as by the administrators.  After 1 year from the official production launch, the new system has brought business increase and cost savings:

• Sales volume increased by 50% the sales into the B2B FIT sales sector (awarded by the suppliers for the sales volume increase)
• Rapidly expanding reseller network (as the system is easy to be learned by the agents and the training is very simple)
• Good adoption quota by the agents who liked the interface and the friendly environment (UK office increased 100% in sales since the implementation of the new system)
•  Administrators advanced content preparation and control in a speedy manner (over 6 times faster than the old system)
